Sheridan to hold office hours on Janesville buses
State Assembly Speaker Mike Sheridan is scheduled to hold office hours Friday on Janesville Transit System buses.
According to a release from the City:
Speaker Sheridan will board the bus at the Transit Transfer Center (123 South River Street) at 9:45AM and will ride until 11:45AM. During that period, he will ride on three different bus routes, covering all but the far eastern and extreme southwest sides of the City. His travel schedule on JTS on March 20 will include:
9:45 – 10:15: Kellogg Avenue route – South-central and southern Janesville, including the Fourth Ward neighborhood
10:15 – 10:45: West Court route – Downtown and the west and northwest portions of the City, including the Look West neighborhood
10:45 – 11:45: Milton Avenue Route – Near east and north-central residential areas, Milton Avenue commercial corridor and north-side retail area
During the ride, Representative Sheridan will conduct a Listening Session to meet with citizens and discuss their views on any topics that may be influenced by state government action. In addition to the Speaker and a member of his staff, city staff will accompany Representative Sheridan on the bus. Past experience in other cities has shown that often questions that are actually items which involve the local government are raised by citizens, so having local officials present is useful to the process.

this is one way to get ridership up. if it does not get ridership up, he won't have to face very many tough questions. i go with the second.
