Janesville's central neighborhoods will receive special attention from city employees starting Monday.

Police officers and Neighborhood Services staff will start inspecting the Look West and Old Fourth Ward neighborhoods Monday. Specifically, they'll ask neighbors to clean up tires, debris, junk cars and trash. If the property owners don't comply, the city will start code enforecment procedures. Deputy Police Chief Dave Moore says officers will also be more visible in the neighborhoods once it gets warmer and school lets out for the summer. Officers will be on foot, bike and in squad cars.

The special code enforcement is expected to last one week.
