Saturday fire destroys outbuildings
WHITEWATER Fire destroyed two outbuildings at a farm south of the city Saturday.
No one was home at the time, so the fire was well under way before a neighbor reported it, said Whitewater Fire Chief Don Gregoire.
Firefighters were called at 4:12 p.m. to W9369 Richmond-Whitewater Townline Road, a farm belonging to Jim Wutke, Gregoire said.
Firefighters protected a wood barn and also fought grass fires that sprung up, Gregoire said.
No damage estimate was available. Gregoire said one building contained some antique tractors.
Whitewater got help from the Elkhorn, Lauderdale Grange and Milton fire departments.
