Opposition may be growing towards proposed legislation to do away with non-partisan spring elections.

State constitutional officers, like the clerk of courts, register of deeds, and county clerks say they weren't consulted. During a recent conference they voted not to support the proposed change in the constitution. Rock County Clerk Lori Stottler tells WCLO's Stan Milam Show more discussion is needed. Before reducing the number of elections, Stottler would like to see more voter education.

Stottler admits benefits would be a large cost savings, and larger voter turnout in the fall.
