WCLO's Steve Benton reports on the Janesville Transit Director's trip to Washington D.C.

RSS

— Dave Mumma's two year stint at the Chair of the Wisconsin Urban and Rural Transit Association puts him in the driver's seat when it comes to lobbying for local and state transit issues.

Mumma, who also happens to be Janesville's Transit Director, is in Washinton D.C. this week as congress gets ready to vote on a bill that covers all ground travel issues in the country.

While in the nation's capitol, Mumma will be visiting with congressional leaders, and members of the Wisconsin congressional delegation on these issues.

He's due back in Janesville on Thursday.

I really wish we had more of an infrastructure of mass transit, both in Madison, where they should have a light rail system, and here where we should have buses from communities like Whitewater and Milton to Janesville. Not only does this improve our whole quality of life, but it also attracts businesses to the area.
