West boys forfeit tournament win; Faith Christian gets new game site and time
Two changes are on the area schedule Saturday for WIAA regional finals in high school boys basketball.
Baraboo replaces Madison West in the Division 1 field after a regional semifinal forfeit by Regents, and Williams Bay Faith Christian’s game against Burlington Catholic Central in Division 4 has been shifted from Edgerton to Clinton.
West’s forfeit of its 46-44 victory over Baraboo on Tuesday night is the result of an ineligible player. It sets up fourth-seeded Baraboo (17-5) for a 4:30 p.m. home game today against Watertown (10-11), with the winner advancing to a semifinal game against Madison Memorial (20-1) or Sauk Prairie (13-8) in the Waunakee Sectional.
Faith Christian (17-5) and Catholic Central (13-8) match up at 1:30 p.m. today at Clinton in a game that was shifted because of travel consideration. The winner plays Benton (20-2) or Monticello (15-7) next Thursday at Janesville Craig in the semifinals of the Fort Atkinson Sectional.
