Parker girls earn another shot at state

— Janesville Parker High School eased past Lake Geneva Badger, 66-42, Friday night to advance to the WIAA Division 1 girls basketball sectional final Saturday at Beloit College’s Flood Arena.

Catie O’Leary scored 17 of her 27 points in the first half to pace the Vikings to the semifinal victory. Parker (17-5) will face either Verona (17-4) or Oregon (17-5) for trip to the state tournament at 7 p.m. Saturday.

The Vikings lead 35-21 at the half, but Badger cut the deficit to 44-32 midway through the third quarter. Parker recovered led by O’Leary’s 10 points, including two three-point baskets, to take a 54-34 lead into the final frame.

Leah Rempert scored 12 points for Badger, while Danielle Flood scored 10 points for Parker.
