A new leader takes the helm of Girl Scout councils in southern Wisconsin: former Ohio Lieutenant Governor Jennette Bradley.

Barbie Wiers, spokeswoman for Girl Scouts of Badger Council, says the change comes with a merger of local councils. Wiers says the merger will provide more resources as Girl Scout programs are thriving in the Rock County area. Badger Council, Black Hawk Council, Riverland Council and a portion of Green Hills Council are realigning.

Wiers says Bradley has shown exceptional leadership skills in both the public and private sectors. She starts June 1.
