The Beloit School District is getting a clearer picture of what the community wants in the next Superintendent of Schools.

Consultants have gathered information from focus groups, surveys and individual interviews. The information is located in a report on the school district's website. Among other things, respondents say they want a superintendent who enbraces diversity, has integrity and is a strong educational leader. The next superintendent should also improve the school district's reputation, understand school finance and close the achievement gap.

The report will help guide the search for the next superintendent, and also provide information to assist in long range decision making.

Current superintendent Lowell Holtz is leaving the district at the end of June.
