Beloit Snappers sweep Clinton

CLINTON, IOWA — The Beloit Snappers downed the Clinton LumberKings, 6-2 and 6-4 in Midwest League baseball here Sunday.

Beloit starter Bobby Lanigan (7-4) held Clinton to one run on five hits through six innings for the Game 1 victory. Steven Blevins allowed one unearned run in relief to notch his first save.

In Game 2, Snappers’ starter Michael Tarsi (3-1) survived 10 hits, allowing just three runs through five innings to take the victory. Beloit reliever Matthew Williams allowed one run on one hit though two innings to notch his fifth save.

Clinton gained a 2-0 lead, but Beloit rallied for four runs in the fourth inning to take 4-2 lead for good.
