JANESVILLE Janesville tourism officials have a better idea how the closing of the I-90 tourist information center at Beloit is affecting local tourism efforts.
Executive Director of the Janesville Convention and Visitors Bureau, Christine Rebout, says a count of requests for information from the Janesville tourism center showed an increase over last year at the same time.
Rebout says they had an additional 116 visits which represents a 1/3 increase.
Rebout also says visitors were able to get a better idea of the attractions in the area after their visit to Janesville.
The count was made over a two week period in May.
