Janesville Legion romps to another win

The Janesville American Legion baseball team had an easy time going to 2-0 Thursday night.

The local squad scored nine times in the second inning en route to a 14-1 trouncing of visiting Franklin at Riverside Park. The game was called after five innings.

Janesville coach Ron Pohlman said his team didn’t get much out of the game.

“It was horrible,” Pohlman said. “It’s really hard to get up to play some of these teams. You tend to play down to the competition.”

Tyler Teubert led Janesville with three RBIs, while Christian DeCremer and Jake Kobs each had two RBIs.

Zach Bayreuther, DeCremer and Kaleb Eichmann each had two hits in Janesville’s 10-hit attack.

Dylan Grall pitched the first four innings, allowing just one hit. Franklin’s only run was unearned. Kaleb Eichmann pitched the final inning.

Janesville will host the Five Star Tournament starting with a 7:15 game tonight against Union Grove.

Milton plays Beloit at 5 p.m. to open the tournament.
