Beloit Snappers edge out Quad Cities

Ozzie Lewis’ RBI single in the eighth inning gave the Beloit Snappers a 3-2 victory over visiting Quad Cities in a Midwest League game Thursday night.

Michael Harrington had two doubles and a single to lead the Snappers’ eight-hit attack. Harrington scored two of the Beloit runs.

Jon Waltenbury singled home Harrington with Beloit’s first run in the second inning. Harrington doubled and came home on Lewis’ first RBI single in the sixth.

Daniel Osterbrock worked the first seven innings for the Snappers. Matt Williams earned the win to even his record at 1-1.

The two teams meet again at 7 p.m. today. A fireworks display will be shot off after the game.
