— The Beloit Janesville Symphony Orchestra is changing its tune for the 2009-10 season.

The schedule incorporates dining and movies with symphony performances, including a screening of “Frankenstein” on Oct. 24, a brunch with Santa on Dec. 19-20 and a spring picnic on March 20-21.

The mailing date for subscription brochures is Friday, June 26. The brochures tout the symphony as “in tune with today’s audience.”

Season ticket holders are guaranteed priority reservations or seating for several of the new events, including the Santa brunch.

The 2009-10 season is number 56 for the symphony and the 10th anniversary for maestro Robert Tomaro as music director and conductor.

Orchestra officials said earlier this year the economic downturn hurt BJSO. Business sponsorships and the symphony’s endowment levels dropped off, forcing cancellations of four shows.
