U.S. Senator Russ Feingold (D-Wis) uses Janesville as an example as he makes his case for a public health insurance option.
"A public health insurance option would be invaluable to families in Janesville and other parts of the state who have recently been laid off, because it is a guaranteed, affordable option that can travel with an individual from job to job," Feingold said.
"A public health insurance option would also make a tremendous difference to our small business owners who face crippling health care costs while trying to keep their businesses open."
Feingold made his comments during a speech Thursday from the Senate floor.

Whythink, I did take your statement out of context and applied it in a more general manner. I apologize for that.
I just can't stand Hannity and his fellow droogs. Conservatives they are not.

'Meanwhile Hannity and the conservatives continue to throw out the scare tactics as if something is about to be done.'
Whythink, Hannity is not a conservative, he is a neo-con, as are most of the conservatives who throw out scare tactics to instill fear among the public.
One beef (of several) I personally have about the idea and push toward a national healthcare program is, from a fiscal aspect...why now? After all the bailout money given to the banks, given to the automakers, which could easily amount to $27 TRILLION ultimately doled out from among each and every American, as well as the funding for this potential '100-year' war in the Middle East (thanks McCain for the aspiration), why try to push this huge, potentially $2 trillion+ behemoth through?
Aren't our pockets empty enough?

I hope we get public heath care. I can't afford insurance right now, and having someone else pay for it would be great!

Health care is a necessity for this country.
.
The democrats are really failing right now. They have the control and need to get reform, universal health care, done NOW!
.
On a side note, as a listener to a lot of political talk radio and frequent watcher of MSNBC and FOX News I have noticed one huge difference between Republican and Deomcrat hosts and commentators...
.
The liberals will rip the democrats a new one if they are not doing what they promised while conservatives seem to be more willing to look the other way.
.
Bill Press, on his radio show, said that the domcrats should not be re-elected in 2012 if universal health care is not passed ASAP.
.
I have heard this same setiment from other Air America Hosts and on Countdown.
.
Meanwhile Hannity and the conservatives continue to throw out the scare tactics as if something is about to be done.
.
So right now, Obama and the dems. are making everyone mad.
.
They are not doing their job.

riverrat006, great analogy. I'm assuming you feel the same way about the Government's job with the military, police and fire services. I'm sure you would thrive in a system with no government living as a serf share-cropping.

Like he has a clue. Putting government in charge of healthcare is like giving booze to a drunken sailor. We will just end up with more federal employees we have to pay for!
