The state budget may soon include tax breaks attractive to companies like General Motors.

Governor Doyle personally delivered an incentive plan to the automaker this week with the hopes the manuracturer might bring production back to Janesville. A proposal in the state budget, approved by the Assembly, but not the Senate, might have helped. Assembly Speaker Mike Sheridan of Janesville tells WCLO's Stan Milam Show he'll work within the legislature's conference committee to illustrate the value of proposed tax breaks for companies making major capital investments.

Sheridan considers the measure a make or break issue.
