Nine errors doom Craig in state tournament

— Middleton High’s baseball team took advantage of Janesville Craig’s nine errors to score six unearned runs en route to a 9-3 victory over the Cougars in the WIAA Division 1 state quarterfinals here today at Fox Cities Stadium.

The Cougars had eight errors in the first four innings, enabling Middleton to build a a 7-0 lead.


Craig got only three hits off Middleton starter Shane Adler, who pitched the five innings. With the help of four hits off reliever Alec Tiedt, the Cougars did all their scoring in the last two innings.
