Clinton rips Beloit Snappers

BELOIT — A six-run ninth inning lifted the Clinton LumberKings to a 9-2 Midwest League victory over the Beloit Snappers here Sunday.

The game was tied 2-2 in the eighth, but the LumberKings scored one run in the eighth before erupting for six in the ninth. Nate Tenbrink’s three-run home run highlighted Clinton’s six-run ninth.

Beloit (24-39) managed only two hits off four Clinton pitchers. Game two of the four-game series is tonight at Pohlman Field.
