Beloit takes series opener against Burlington

BURLINGTON — Closer Ben Testa allowed one run through the final 2 2/3 innings to lift the visiting Beloit Snappers to a 4-2 victory over the Burlington Bees in Midwest League baseball Wednesday.

While Testa was protecting a 2-1 lead, the Snappers scored twice in the top of the ninth to take a 4-1 advantage.

John Waltenbury and Dominic De La Osa doubled, and Jeff Lanning hit an RBI ground ball for Beloit’s two runs in the ninth.

Testa allowed one run in the bottom of the ninth in getting his fifth save.

The teams will continue their four-game series tonight. The Snappers will return home to start a four-game series against Clinton.
