The Rock County 4-H Fairgrounds could soon host a second cell tower.

T-Mobile wants to build the tower, and the county is hosting a neighborhood meeting Wednesday at the fairgrounds. The new tower would mimic the tower built within the last year there. After the neighborhood meeting, both the City of Janesville and county will conduct further research and provide recommendations. Janesville's plan commission needs to approve a conditional use permit for the tower before the project can be approved. One of the conditions of the current tower at the fairgrounds is that if the county moves the fairgrounds elsewhere, the company must remove all traces of the tower so the area can be redeveloped.
