More than $1.7 million in federal grant money is on its way to Janesville to help pay for last summer's record flood.

City Neighborhood Development Specialist Kelly Lee says $1 million is expected to be used to help businesses. A large chuck of the grant will also reimburse the city for repairs to public facilities including streets, the library, and senior center.

The funds come through the Community Development Block Grant Program, and are not part of a $1.5 million grant anticipated from FEMA.
