Beloit officials are hoping a series of national awards will highlight the city's innovative practices.

City Manager Larry Arft says the latest award from the International City/County Management Association offers worldwide recognition. The most recent award goes to trend setting initiatives, in this case, recognizing Beloit for its partnership efforts to restore the historic row houses known as Fairbanks Flats. Other recent awards include recognition for the best snow removal program in the county, and Amercan Bloom.

Arft says these types of award help support business and residential growth.
