Beloit Snappers earn split

GRAND CHUTE — Dan Osterbrock tossed a four-hitter to lead the visiting Beloit Snappers to a 4-1 victory and a doubleheader split with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers in Midwest League baseball Sunday.

The Snappers lost the opener, 2-1, to complete Saturday’s rain-suspended game.

Osterbrock (3-5) blanked the Timber Rattlers for eight straight innings after giving up his lone run in the first inning. The Snappers banked Osterbrock with 10 hits, including five doubles.

In the suspended game, Wisconsin scored the winning run in the fourth inning. Snappers’ starter Dan Berlind (1-6) allowed two runs on four hits through six innings to take the loss.
