Beloit Snappers fall twice

PEORIA, ILL. — The visiting Beloit Snappers wound up on the wrong end of two one-run losses to the Peoria Chiefs in Midwest League baseball here Wednesday.

The Snappers bowed 3-2 in the completion of a rain-suspended game on Tuesday, and 2-1 in the regular scheduled game last night.

Peoria scored twice in the eighth inning to decide the suspended game and scored two runs in the sixth inning of the regular-schedule game to make it a sweep.

Snappers’ starter Bobby Lanigan (5-4) allowed just four hits in going the distance in the regular game. Reliever Danny Rondon took the loss in the suspended game, allowing two runs on two hits in 1 1-3 innings.
