Janesville Police Department reorganizes administration
The Janesville Police Department is reorganizing its administrative staff to streamline its operations.
Chief Dave Moore says the moves announced Tuesday should provide a cost savings of $40,000 per year. The department is eliminating the position of patrol captain, reclassifying that position to deputy chief, adding the position of records supervisor, promoting an officer to the rank of sergeant, and hiring one officer to fill a vacant police officer position.
Danny Davis, former captain of patrol, is now the deputy police chief in command of patrol. Deputy Chief Steve Kopp is now in command of investigations, community services and the records division.
Moore also announces the promotions of Officers Todd Kleisner and Chad Pearson to the rank of Sergeant. Kleisner is a 17-year police department employee and Pearson is an 11-year police department employee.
