The Rock Aqua Jays Water Ski Show Team is canceling its shows scheduled for Wednesday, June 3, and Sunday, June 7 due to high water on the Rock River.

This brings the number of canceled shows since August 2007 to 37. The team also relinquished hosting the 2008 national tournament.

President Joel Shapiro says if the team is able to start performing shows soon, the team will be able to recover over the next few years. He says the lack of practice and a show site makes it difficult to retain members. Members practice at Preservation Park in the Town of Beloit in the meantime.

Damage from the flooding, including lost revenue from the national tournament, cost the group more than $250,000.
