— Everything, including the weather, cooperated to make the Southern Wisconsin Airfest a record breaker.

Organizer, Tom Morgan, says he's very happy with the estimated 60,000 turnout.

Parking on the Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport grounds turned out to be a problem, mostly due to a taxiway project that's finishing up. But Morgan says putting a shuttle bus system in place using large parking lots at L.S.I. and Blackhawk Technical College, reduced the strain.

Morgan says after resting a couple weeks, the work begins on Airfest 2010. He says the push will be on to get the Thunderbirds to come back next year.

I would like to express my gratitude to the Blue Angels, Make A Wish Foundation, Glen Erin Golf Club, and the Rock County Airport for allowing us to participate in a picnic lunch and private air show. My kids loved the show, as did I. My daughter loved meeting the female air pilot. THANK YOU!!
