Janesville schools focus on possible threats to students

In many cases of school shootings, schools missed earlier threats. That's according to historical data Mat Haeger, Janesville School District safety director, reviewed as he worked up a policy on how to handle those threats.

Haeger says it sets forth a defined plan to look at threats made by or for students, and how the school district will address them.

The school board is scheduled to vote on the policy at its next meeting.
