Loons bury Beloit Snappers early

— The Beloit Snappers fell behind early and couldn’t play catch-up as they suffered an 8-5 loss to the host Great Lakes Loons in Midwest League baseball Tuesday.

The Snappers trailed 5-0 after two innings. The Loons gained a 3-0 lead in the first on three hits, including a two-run homer.


Beloit scored a run in the fourth, but Great Lakes answered with two runs in the fifth for a 7-1 lead and salted the game away.


Snappers starter Brad Tippett (8-4) allowed seven runs on eight hits through 4q innings in taking the loss.
