The City of Janesville is adding about 185 acres of vacant farmland to a Tax Increment Finance District (TIF) on the south side of town.
Community Development Director Brad Cantrell says the amendment to TIF 26 allows flexibility for the city's economic development team to attract new businesses to vacant areas on the south side. Cantrell says it also allows the city council to entertain proposals from businesses and promote job creation. The council unanimously approved the TIF amendment Monday.
