WCLO's Stan Stricker reports on efforts of Rock County Youth2Youth

RSS

Rock County Youth2Youth leaders are pleased with the results of a recent Tobacco Industry Access to Youth project.

Youth2Youth director Debbie Fischer says underage youth attempted to purchase tobacco products at 50 retailers. she says the exciting outcome is none of the retailers sold tobacco products to minors. Recent checks in Edgerton and Milton had similar results. This is a far cry from a similar test in 1999 when more than half the retailers sold to underage customers.

Fischer sees a change in attitude about the dangers of tobacco in both the public, and among retailers.
