WCLO's Steve Benton reports on grant money to fund Rock County emergency shelter and transitional housing programs

RSS

— Rock County agencies that help the homeless are receiving state and federal grant money this week.

Executive Director of Community Action of Rock and Walworth Counties, Marc Perry, says about 11 agencies in the county will share some of the $4,622,588 for emergency shelter and transitional housing programs.

Perry says the agencies never get all of the money sought in the grant applications, but the money they do get is well received and put to good use. He expects the need for similar funding to increase this fall when the official homeless count is made in September.
