— On Monday, the Edgerton City Council decided to put an ad in the paper seeking applicants for the third district seat recently vacated by Carrie Strahota.

Strahota is moving out of the district.

The letters will be due by Wednesday, July 29, so they can be put in the council's agenda packet for review at the Aug. 3 meeting, said City Administrator Ramona Flanigan.

Strahota was originally appointed to the seat in April 2008 to replace Alderman Paul Davis, who also moved out of the district.

She was elected in April 2009, defeating Andrew Wellnitz by four votes even though Wellnitz pulled out of the race.
