Janesville faith based charity ECHO is collecting school supplies for needy children.

ECHO Client Advocate Cheryl Maveety says simple items including paper, pencils, and three ring binders are needed. She says for the last ten years, ECHO has teamed up with McDonalds in the McBuddies program. Last year 1200 children received supplies, and the need is growing.

Collection barrels will be available at a number of Janesville stores starting Wednesday.
