Dayton tips Beloit Snappers
DAYTON, Ohio A six-run third inning lifted the Dayton Dragons to a 6-4 win over the Beloit Snappers in Midwest League play Sunday.
Beloit (9-14 second half) took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second on Jon Waltenbury’s fourth home run of the season, but the Dragons responded with six runs in the third.
The Snappers cut the lead to two in the ninth thanks to RBI singles from Ozzie Lewis and Aaron Hicks, but Daniels Rams popped out with the bases loaded to end the game.
Bobby Lanigan (7-6) suffered the loss, allowing sis runs on eight hits in only three innings of work. The two teams wrap up the three-game series tonight.
