Man crashes truck, then struck again
JANESVILLE A Janesville man is in fair condition at an Illinois hospital after crashing his truck and being struck by a vehicle hours after leaving the scene of the accident.
Michael G. Boland, 53, was on Illinois Route 6 just after midnight Saturday morning in Peoria County when his vehicle went through a guardrail and stopped in a ditch, according to reports from the Peoria Journal Star.
When Peoria County Sheriff deputies responded, Boland was gone and could not be located until about three hours later.
A Chillicothe, Ill., man was driving when he saw Boland standing in the right lane of the road. The driver swerved and braked, but he said Boland ducked, ran to the left lane and lowered his shoulder.
The Journal Star reported that Boland told officers he was trying to flag down a vehicle because he had been in an accident. He was transported to the OSF Saint Francis Medical Center by helicopter and was listed in serious condition after the accident.
Boland was ticketed for being a pedestrian under the influence of drugs or alcohol, driving too fast for conditions and leaving the scene of an accident, according to the paper.

+1 Skiddz.....Either go home or directly to the nearest bar and have a drink. If you leave the scene it is much more difficult, if not impossible, to prove DUI. If it was just you and your car involved in the accident, there is no point in waiting around to get fined, lose your license and have your insurance skyrocket......

Did you know that if you crash your car drunk. Leave go home before anyone can see you. Grab a beer and open it up and drink alittle. When the Cops come to get you they can only arrest you for fleeing the scene of a accident.. You can say sorry that situation was so stressfull I had to have a beer to calm my nerves... And what are they going to be able to do, nothing but arrest you for fleeing which is no where near as bad as DUI... Happy drinking Janesville!
