The Janesville school board could approve two top administrators Tuesday.

The school district is currently short two key positions, and the school board is scheduled to consider the candidates at the regular board meeting Tuesday. Superintendent Karen Schulte is recommending Edison Middle School principal Steve Sperry as Director of Administrative and Human Services. He'd take over for Steve Salerno, who recently left for a post in La Crosse. Like Sperry, Salerno also took the Director of Administrative and Human Services post after serving as a middle school principal in Janesville. Schulte says Sperry has a strong background in administration and strong leadership skils.

Schulte recommends Keith Pennington as the district's new Chief Financial Officer. She says he has the experience, knowledge and commitment to serve in Janesville. He most recently served as CFO at a health network in Rockford. The school district's CFO position is newly created after Doug Bunton retired from the post of Director of Business Services.

Each position offers a salary of just under $125,000 a year.
