WCLO's Beth Wheelock reports on the symbolism of voluntarily returning the pay.

RSS

One Rock County Board supervisor wants his colleagues to give back a portion of the pay they receive for attending meetings.

Supervisor Alan Sweeney says it would be a symbolic move. At $50 a meeting he says it would be fair to give back $100 to the county to let voters know the county board is feeling their economic pain.

He says he has received a positive response from his colleagues on the board.

Sweeney represents rural areas in the northern part of the county.
