Janesville Legion falls in tourney

OCONOMOWOC — The Janesville American Legion baseball team lost 11-1 in six innings to host Oconomowoc in the Oconomowoc tournament here Sunday.

The Legion (15-12) won one of five tournament games.

Oconomowoc jumped on Janesville starter Matt Beyer for five runs in the second inning to take a 6-0 lead. Beyer lasted three innings, allowing eight runs on six hits and four walks for the loss.

The Legion will play at Beloit in a Lakes Area Legion League tournament semifinal at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the Beloit Baseball complex. The winner will play the Kenosha-Burlington winner in the title game, and the losers will play in for the consolation title.
