Rock County Sheriff's deputies will be out in force this weekend, patrolling for drunk drivers.

Captain Gary Groelle says the $25,000 grant for overtime is directly related to traffic accidents involving alcohol. He says Rock County has shown a high level of drunk driving fatalities in the past. However, they're down this year. Groelle credits this grant and a grant for speed enforcement that enable officers to use overtime to enforce traffic laws.

The grant funds are awarded from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation Bureau of Transportation Safety.

Good. They should be out on the interstate at 2a.m. while I'm trying real hard to make it to work safe. The idiot drunks are all over both lanes and I have almost been in several accidents while they can't figure out what lane they are in.
