Beloit Snappers dig early hole

BELOIT — An early uprising once again doomed the Beloit Snappers in a 6-3 loss to the visiting South Bend Silver Hawks in Midwest League baseball Wednesday.

Beloit lost, 7-3, on Tuesday when the Chiefs scored all their runs in the first four innings. South Bend hammered Beloit for five runs in the second inning for a 6-0 lead.

The Silver Hawks produced four hits, including a double and benefited from a Snappers’ error and a passed ball in their second-inning rally.

Snappers’ starter Bobby Lanigan (7-5) allowed all six runs—three earned—on eight hits through six innings to take the loss.
