About a dozen protesters stood in the gentle summer rain outside the Rock County Courthouse Wednesday morning.
They were hoping to call attention to a child abuse case, in which a 28-year-old man, originally charged with felony intentional child abuse, was being offered a plea deal. They say they were seeking justice for the three-year-old victim, who was still recovering from a brain injury.
In the end, Norbert Cruz Cantu pleaded no contest to reduced charges, and received two years probation.

First one year for the death of Israel Gordon.
Now two years probation for smashing a baby girls head is so bad her membranes were ripped from the skull.
We should have a new motto- Janesville- "Child Abuse Haven"
