Fast start sparks Peoria past Beloit Snappers

PEORIA, ILL. — The Peoria Chiefs had their way through the first four innings in handing the Beloit Snappers a 7-3 defeat in Midwest League baseball here Tuesday.

The Chiefs scored all of their runs in the first four innings for a 7-0 lead. Peoria racked up 11 of its 13 hits through the first five innings.

Snappers starter Curtis Leavitt (0-3) allowed five runs on five hits through the first three innings to take the loss. Reliever Michael Allen allowed the Chiefs’ final two runs, giving up six hits through the next two innings.
