BELOIT The second half of the Midwest League baseball season is shaping up like the disappointing first half for the Beloit Snappers.
The Cedar Rapids Kernels, behind a four-run third inning, coasted past the Snappers, 8-2, on Wednesday night at Pohlman Field.
Beloit (2-4 in the second half) managed only six hits off three Cedar Rapids pitchers.
Daniel Berlind (2-9) took the loss.
The two teams will play game three of the four-game series tonight at 7 at Pohlman Field.
