Beloit Snappers fall to Kernels

BELOIT — The Beloit Snappers could not treat a robust home crowd to a victory in Midwest League baseball at Pohlman Field on Tuesday evening.

Beloit lost 4-1 to the Cedar Rapids Kernels before 1,301 customers.

The Kernals snapped a 1-1 tie with three runs in the top of the inning for the winning margin.

Beloit was held to three hits as two Kernals’ pitchers notched 11 strikeouts and three walks. Three Snappers pitchers surrendered six hits.

Snappers’ reliever Steve Blevins (2-4) took the loss allowing all three runs in the ninth on two hits and a walk.
