Faith Christian edges Williams Bay in overtime
WILLIAMS BAY Faith Christian was the last one standing in a high school boys basketball shootout Saturday night at Williams Bay.
Josh Sass led the way with 33 points as the host Eagles outlasted the Williams Bay Bulldogs, 61-59, in overtime.
Jack Slovick had 33 points, including five of Williams Bay’s eight three-point goals, but it wasn’t enough to save the Bulldogs (6-8), who saw two big leads disappear.
Williams Bay led 18-10 after the first quarter, but Faith Christian was within 28-27 by halftime. The Bulldogs took 43-35 lead into the fourth quarter, but the Eagles rebounded with a 17-9 advantage to force a 52-52 and the overtime, where Faith Christian gained a final 9-7 edge to grab the victory.
