City school board expels six students
The Janesville School Board approved the expulsions of six students at a closed meeting Tuesday.
This brings to 21 the number of students expelled this year, compared with 16 at this time a year ago.
Expelled were:
-- A high school student accused of possession with intent to deliver acetametiphen with codeine on school grounds. He or she is expelled through the end of this school year.
-- A middle school student accused of repeated failure to obey school rules. He or she is expelled through the end of this school year.
-- A high school student accused of threatening to harm students. The student is expelled through his or her 21st birthday.
-- A high school student accused of fighting on school grounds. He was expelled until Jan. 12 after serving a suspension that lasted up to 15 days.
-- A high school student accused of battering another student. He or she was expelled through Friday, Jan. 23, but has left to attend a private school.
-- A middle school student accused of repeated failure to follow school rules. He or she is expelled through the end of the first semester of the 2009-10 school year.
None of these students was granted the possibility of earlier reinstatement.
