A promoter for a proposed North American Hockey Team in Janesville tells WCLO's Stan Milam Show concerns about beer sales during games are being addressed.
Bill McCoshen, with Wisconsin Hockey Partners, proposed the idea to the city council this week, which approved money to plan renovations at the city's ice arena.
McCoshen says a separate family area will likely be developed to help deal with concerns over beer sales.

I have been to numerous Junior hockey games. We lived in Iowa and they have numerous teams there. It is HUGE.
They all serve beer and the kids all go to the games. It has never been a problem.
I have never seen anyone drunk or disorderly (I assume this is the real, underlying concern here) or fights break out IN THE STANDS because of alcohol.
Fact is, alcohol will bring in money. IF people abuse it, kick them out. Problem solved.
Again, I have attended many Des Moines Buccanneer, Cedar Rapids Rough Rider and Sioux City Muskateer games along with several NAHL games (Mason City, Owatonna and Albert Lea), alcohol is not a problem.
These teams are all playing now. If it really is a concern, I suggest those concerned attend one. I suspect you will leave wanting this team here in Janesville even more.
Here is a link to the NAHL site with all the teams on it. You can check out the times the teams play here.
