— A crew positioned the shell of a GMC Suburban on the ice at Traxler Park Lagoon on Monday in preparation for the Janesville Kiwanis Blackhawk Golden K Club's annual Truck On Ice fundraiser.

Ticket buyers guess when the clock locked inside the truck will stop when the vehicle sinks through the ice.

I think a model of the G.M plant would have been a better idea

Unless there's a publicity hook like the truck, raffles only succeed if you have a small dedicated group of ticket sellers and motivated buyers. Annual raffles often fold because they can't get people to sell sufficient tickets to cover the prizes.
.
It's not just the truck, it's being out there on Traxler Lagoon where people can drive by it every day.

I think it's a neat idea. I always look for the red GMC out in the middle of the ice when I drive on the bridge.

Where's the fun in just selling tickets? The GMC makes it more interesting and not just another raffle.
