Dan Douglas was on fire again from three-point range.

After blitzing Whitewater in the final period Friday night, East Troy High School’s senior guard connected four times from beyond the arc in the first quarter Monday night to ignite a 59-48 boys basketball victory over visiting Evansville.

Overall, the Trojans (7-3) had six three-point goals in a 26-14 first quarter as they handed Evansville its third loss in four games and stayed atop the Rock Valley North at 7-0.

Brett Bouwman and Cody Condon also had one three-point goal apiece in East Troy’s hot first quarter. Douglas added another in the second quarter and finished with 15 points, while the Trojans wound up with nine three-pointers to Evansville’s five.

East Troy led 33-23 at halftime and 47-37 after three quarters. Scott Beckwith shut the door on Evansville’s comeback bid by making six of eight free throws in the final period.

Beckwith and Condon backed up Douglas with 10 points a piece. Andrew Keister had a nine-point first quarter for Evansville (8-5, 6-3) and finished with 15 before fouling out, while teammate Brian Lunde scored 10.

n Jefferson 61, Parkview 54—The Eagles made 20 of 24 free throws to the Vikings’ four of eight and won a Rock Valley crossover makeup game.

Parkview led 28-26 at halftime, but the Vikings couldn’t stop Jefferson’s Trevor Probst, who scored 16 of his 24 points in the second half.

Probst and Ramsey Tabor scored eight points apiece in the fourth quarter to give Jefferson a 22-16 advantage that sealed the victory.

Tabor finished with 12 points, and Tyler Tomczak added 10 for Jefferson. Alex Mumm led Parkview with 13 points, and teammate Kyle Woodworth had 12.

n Big Foot 67, Palmyra-Eagle 36—The visiting Chiefs (6-4, 3-4) took care of business quickly and thoroughly in winning a Rock Valley South makeup game.

T.J. Schaid had a pair of three-point goals, and Michael Schauf added another in sparking Big Foot to a 16-6 first-quarter lead. Alec McGreevy scored 10 of his 12 points for the Chefs in a 22-6 second quarter that put the game out of reach.

Michael Spadoni was Big Foot’s game leader with 14 points, and Schaid finished with 12. Chris McMillan led Palmyra-Eagle (2-10, 0-8) with 13.
